AVE Technologies is proud to announce our success at the 2025 NECA NSW Excellence Awards, winning in the Small Industrial Project category for our work on the BHP MCC16/31 VSD Upgrade project.
The NECA Excellence Awards are regarded as the highest recognition in the electrical and communications industry. Hosted by the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA) NSW, these awards celebrate innovation, quality, and leadership across the sector.
Delivering Award-Winning Results
Our award-winning project – the BHP MCC16/31 VSD Upgrade – showcased AVE Technologies’ capability to design, supply, install, and commission advanced variable speed drive (VSD) systems. The upgrade improved site efficiency, reliability, and compliance while minimising downtime for operations.
This project highlighted our team’s strength in delivering technically complex industrial solutions with precision and safety at the forefront of mind.

Winning at the state level positions us for the NECA National Excellence Awards, to be held on 27 November 2025 in Brisbane. This prestigious black-tie event will showcase the top projects and businesses from across Australia’s electrical and communications industry.
Celebrating Individual Achievement
In addition to our project win, we are proud to share that Apprentice Electrician, Fin Newbury, was awarded Apprentice of the Year at the 2025 NECA NSW Excellence Awards for his outstanding work on the BHP MCC16/31 VSD Upgrade.
Fin’s achievement is a testament to the strength of our apprenticeship program and our commitment to developing the next generation of skilled electricians. Like our project team, Fin will also go on to represent NSW at the NECA National Excellence Awards in Brisbane.
