State Winner, Highly Commended and National Finalist
AVE Technologies is proud to celebrate two outstanding project achievements at the 2026 NECA NSW Awards.
Our work with MCi Carbon was named the NSW State Winner in the Industrial Large category, while our advanced audiovisual integration for the Newcastle Art Gallery expansion received a Highly Commended distinction in the Voice/Data Communications & Audio Visual category.
These results recognise the technical capability, innovation and dedication of our people across two very different and highly complex projects.
Industrial Large State Winner: MCi Carbon

The AVE x MCi Carbon project was named the 2026 NECA NSW State Winner for Excellence in the Industrial Large category.
Located at Kooragang Island, the project involved delivering comprehensive electrical, instrumentation, and communications infrastructure for Myrtle, MCi Carbon’s carbon refinery.
AVE Technologies delivered motor control centres, power distribution, instrumentation cabling, fibre and copper network infrastructure, industrial automation integration, lighting, general power, earthing and commissioning support.
The project required technical depth, flexibility and close coordination with MCi Carbon’s engineers and other project partners. This collaborative approach allowed our team to respond to evolving requirements while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
The State win is a significant achievement for everyone involved and reflects AVE Technologies’ capability in delivering complex industrial electrical and communications solutions.

Highly Commended: Newcastle Art Gallery

AVE Technologies also received a Highly Commended distinction in the Voice/Data Communications & Audio Visual category for our work on the Newcastle Art Gallery expansion.
Working with Newcastle City Council, our team designed, supplied and installed a fully integrated audiovisual system across the new multi-storey extension and refurbished heritage gallery.
The solution included Crestron NVX video distribution and control, QSYS digital audio, laser projection, hearing augmentation, video conferencing systems, digital displays and an eight metre by three metre external LED video wall.
This recognition reflects the expertise and attention to detail our audiovisual team demonstrated in creating a flexible, accessible, and easy-to-use system for exhibitions, events, and public engagement.
